Made In America!

Most products we buy and use today are NOT made in America anymore but are from foreign soil. So buying American has become somewhat of a rare thing. Usually one would have to ask before knowing these days where a product is from, and frankly it shouldn't be that way.

So the following items are products that are still being made and sold in America.

AIRSTREAM
Jackson Center, Ohio

The company which is the oldest in the industry, manufactures luxury recreational vehicles. The distinctive rounded aluminum body originated in the 1930's created by Hawley Bowlus who was the chief designer of Charles Lindbergh's aircraft - The Spirit of St. Louis

STEINWAY & SONS
New York, New York

An American and German manufacturer of handmade, high quality pianos.
Founded in 1853 in Manhattan in New York City, they are the last major piano maker still making music here.

REGAL WARE
Kewaskum and West Bend, Wisconsin
Employees: 400
Founded in 1919, Regal ware is an American owned company that manufactures stainless steel cookware and bakeware. The cookware company has made more than five million canteens for the Boy Scouts.

KOHLER
Kohler, Wisconsin
Employees: 6,500
Founded in 1870, nearly all of its fixtures are made from recycled and reclaimed iron.

MERLE NORMAN

Makeup company launched in the 1920's by Merle Nethercutt Norman, inventor of the before-and-after makeover

LOUISVILLE SLUGGER

The history of the Louisville Slugger bat began in the hands of 17 year old John A "Bud" Hillerich in his fathers woodworking shop.
In the 120 years since the making of that first bat, Louisville Slugger has sold more than 100,000,000 bats.
It takes 40,000 trees to make enough bats for one baseball season.

ANCHOR HOCKING
Lancaster, Ohio and Monaca, Pennsylvania

The Hocking Glass company was founded in 1905 by Isaac Jacob Collins. The company merged with AnchorCap and Closure Corporation in 1937.
During the Great Depression, Anchor Hocking sold tumblers "two for a nickel".

INDIAN MOTORCYCLES

During the 1910's, Indian became the largest manufacturer of motorcycles in the world.
Each motorcycle is hand-assembled by a team of two craftsmen.

POOF-SLINKY, INC

The company has been in business for over 60 years. It's most popular toy is the Slinky which is made of American Steel.

These are just a few of the products and there are many more, but not as many as there use to be and probably will never be again. It is a sad sign of our times.
