Taking a Drive

Just sitting around bored yesterday so we decided to take a drive. Just get out for awhile. So we rode down to Rosewood to visit with Shelby's co-workers. She hadn't seen them since going on maternity leave. Did a little shopping. (got the prettiest bottle of nail polish)

Sally Hansen Hard as Nails
Gunmetal

Thought we would ride out to the horses and take the scenic route. First Shelby had to have a snack so she got a bag of cracker jacks to share.

You can see here that we are definitely on baby watch with the due date in just 3 days.

We took 345 from Rosewood to Chiefland. Of course nothing looks the same there are a whole lot of houses and all down here now.

Of course it is still beautiful out here. This is Sweetwater curve we are coming up on. Such a feeling of sadness when on this curve. So many lost here.

After all these years and the amount of traffic on it you would think they would widen it more than they have.

Here we are coming off the second part of the curve. Still have to slow way down to go around it.

Took a little side trip here to see Granny's old house. Barely recognizable now.

Here is the spot where mom's trailer was when we were 4 and 5.

Of course this is the entrance to Granddaddy and Grandmoma's farm. They have moved the driveway and we can no longer see the house in there. I know it is there because I looked on Google earth. Decarlo still owns it but Frank isn't sure how to get in touch with him now. We haven't seen him for quite a few years. Frank worked with him before Frankie was even born.

Another shot of where the house is but the trees are overgrown.

Well she finished the snack and didn't offer Mimi or me one little piece. So this chapter will end for now and I will finish our drive later.
