Ranch Sorting

Friday Night @ 7pm We attended and watched Mimi compete in her first Ranch Sorting event. It was held at the Longhorn Arena a part of the Ridgeview Ranch.

Mimi rode her horse Laramie and was partnered up with Natalie Lamneck who is a Dr. of Veterinary medicine in High Springs, Fl.

This photo shows the two of them on deck for their turn. (Mimi is on the left on Laramie and Natalie is on the right on her horse Turbo)

Here is Mimi in action in the ring cutting calf #2. Bud Sharp (co-owner and operator of Longhorn S Arena on his buckskin named "Einstein" looks on.

Dad is on hand to keep an eye on his little girl. Surprised Mimi by showing up to watch her ride. He is supposed to be in Georgia at work but made time to come watch.

Even though they didn't qualify for a jackpot run, the look on her face says it all. She loves being on her horse and in the arena. Definitely a happy camper here.

Discussing with her dad why things didn't go to well in the ring.

Mimi and Natalie planning for the next event.

Some last minute encouragement from Dad.

and instructions. Laramie wasn't wanting to perform as she should. Mimi got her crop from the trailer and Laramie straightened right up after that. She knows whose boss, but like a child always testing the system.

Frankie, Johnny and Frank discussing only who knows what. Never can tell with these guys.

Sissie warning Mimi to BE CAREFUL! "THOSE CALVES ARE HUGE!" "OMG DID YOU SEE THE HORNS ON THOSE THINGS" "YOU CAN'T GO IN THERE WITH THEM" "THERE ARE TOO MANY OF THEM" "COME BACK MY LITTLE ANGEL, THIS IS TOO DANGEROUS"!

Laramie is like, "Can't we go home now, I am soooo tired."

Next event will be held Friday, June 24th. Mimi and Natalie are planning to enter twice as many as this time and will be making a run for the jackpot and placement. Hoping to up their ranking.
