Today kicks off the Ultimate Blog Party hosted by 5 Minutes for Mom and don't we all love a good party? So come on in to my little slice of the world and let's get acquainted.
My name is Kimberly, (just call me Kim). I am a SAHM currently homeschooling my 12 year old daughter, Mimi. I have a son, Frankie, who is 24 and married to Shelby, 23. I married my high school sweetheart 28 years ago and have been blessed that he took being a husband and father seriously. He is a truck driver and (due to injuries suffered on the job)a retired local stock car racer. He now "supervises" our sons attempts at racing.
My son and his wife live next door to us. They have been married 2 years. They both work and have decided to wait 5 years before giving me the grandchild I have so been waiting on. (More on this subject later when I introduce you to my grand-nephew Devan)
My daughter, Mimi, is a wonderful child. She was born prematurely and was given little hope of ever being up to par with kids her own age. But God blessed us and she has surpassed all expectations. She is currently in 5th grade and we use a mix of different curriculum. One of her more interesting assets is she has photographic memory. Which can be a wonderful blessing unless she is trying to correct me and my aging mind. She is always right. She is very crafty and does crocheting, cross stitching, quilting, acrylic painting, jewelry making, polymer clay and drawing. She collects Key chains and loves gardening. She adores and is adored by her favorite aunt, my sister, Sissie. But all her focus these days is on her horse Laramie. She lives for her horse. I have pictures of the two of them posted in past posts.
I am 46 yrs old (47 before this week is out aarrrggghhh!). I love reading, quilting, cross stitching, and collecting Santa Figurines. I have 3 Chihuahuas, Bear (my all the time protector and shadow), Angel (she belongs to Truckerdaddy), and Rossie-bud who thinks she owns Mimi. We also have a Blue heeler-Rat Terrier mix named Dexter who thinks it's his job to keep the birds out of our airspace. (he has run into many a tree because he is busy looking up and running). Our favorite is when he chases the helicopters that fly over. LOL!
Well I could go on and on but that would just get boring, so check back during the week and I will be posting some favorite recipes and I have also saved my "100 things about me" for this week. Thanks for dropping by and leave a comment so I may come visit you. Now, time to party on to the next blog! WooHoo! PARTY! PARTY! PARTY!

I am over at Sew What's Up.
Party On!!!
Happy Birthday! I love the name Mimi. One of my favorite mentors in life is a Mimi. How great to have your son and daughter-in-law next door! Lucky them when they do finally have kids!
Nice meeting you!
You sound like you have a WONDERFUL, full life! What a blessing to have your son so near too!!! (I joke that I want to put a little chip under my son's skin that, if he moves too far away from me, he gets little zaps! ;) He of course wouldn't know what it was, he just would have the instinct to not move far away when he grows up!)
-I sure wish I had a photographic memory!
Kim, it's great to meet you -- I feel like I know you after that great introductory post! You're such a welcoming hostess!
I have a blue heeler mix, too -- Jake is also part Australian Shepherd. What a sweet boy!
Have a fun party and if you haven't already made it over to pay me a visit (it's so hard to keep track!), please drop in soon!
