Beggars Be Like PLEASE!

OK peeps, After having numerous requests, I am starting up the blog again. I will admit that I have been kind of curious myself to see what has been going on in my life also. So here we go. I have quite a few ideas running around in my head so lets see what I can do with them.

Today let's just start off simple.  Yesterday as we all know was Father's Day. (Thank you for calling him Sissie, he was quite happy that you did and even announced it at dinner) So I decided to bring back an old school picture for my profile and this is the one I chose....

Daddy and Alfred White around Apr of 1963. Man they thought they were hot stuff.  And that car!  WHOEEEE!  They were hotties!

Shelby cooked a freaking good meal for us today.  She bar-b-qued Chicken, hamburgers, corn on the cob on the grill, made potato salad (one with and one without onions), pasta salad with cucumbers and Mimi made Pork and beans using mom's recipe. Man it was good.  Frankie even came back for one more round of grazing about midnight!  So now everyone is in bed and Frank is back out headed north to Bristol and here I sit. So I will end today's blog with this.....

Trivia of the Day for Sunday

A duck feather weighs approximately .016 to .063 grams.

The term “senator” means “old man” in Latin.

Earthworms don’t have eyes or ears.

The Federal Aviation Administration once did a study that found the average airline stewardess has a nose of 2.18 inches long. I wonder how many of my tax dollars went to determine this useless piece of trivia?

Insects can shiver.

Happy Birthday Mimi!

Today, 19 years ago, the most amazing little girl entered our lives. She was so tiny at a little less than 4lbs. "They" (the drs) said she would never be normal, would have learning disabilities, stunted growth and probably be mentally disabled. Wow! They didn't know the strength and power of prayer and love. She was so small that even preemie clothes were too big. One very special lady in Mimi's life (MaryLee Hudson) had the forethought to buy doll clothes so she would something to wear. Now my beautiful daughter has grown up to be a perfect young woman. None of their predictions came true. She finished our homeschooling program at 17, is very smart and has never had any of the problems they predicted.

What a wonderful person she has become. Godly, respectful, and sensitive. "Baby girl, you are the most wonderful gift from God to your daddy and I. Giving birth to you was a miracle, being allowed to raise you has been a gift. You are truly a beauty inside and out. Do you know how much your momma and daddy love you? We both love you so very much. Words can never explain how proud we are of you. Happy Birthday Sweetie!"

Our Summer so far.....

Well people, it's that time again! Yea!  Once again it is time for our yearly trek to the beach. We are ready and raring to go. This year we made enough money from our watermelons to stay 6 days and 5 nights. It was a good year this year.  So here are some pictures from this years sales.  Mimi took the lead role this time and was responsible for the business end of it. She ended up making over $1100.00. She was incredible. This is what she wants to do for her birthday so this is where we are going.

This is just one of the twice a week truckloads that was brought in. Each truckload carried about 125 melons and we had 2 to 3 loads a week for about 6 weeks.

Some loads were brought in late at night.

Mimi was smart enough to get everyone else to do the heavy work.......

to be the clown.....

while she supervised!

Of course every now and then she would make it "look like" she was working.

In all it was a great time and we are now going to enjoy the beach. Can't wait to get there. Gregers is going to have so much fun there.  Frank and Frankie really need this vacation. They are both exhausted and definitely needing the rest. So we will be off and of course I will be posting lots of photos!
